40,000 people under evacuation orders after a chemical tank leak in Southern California

Approximately 40,000 people were placed under evacuation orders after a chemical tank overheated at an aerospace plant in Garden Grove, California on May 22, 2026. Water was sprayed on the tank to mitigate the situation.
