These clever active beam headlights are finally coming to America

Audi's adaptive beam headlights are finally coming to the US market with the Q9 SUV launch later this year, featuring technology that provides better illumination while minimizing glare. This technology has been available in Europe and Japan for years but is only now being approved for American roads after decades of lobbying and regulatory approval. The headlights use multipixel LED arrays that can selectively dim beams for oncoming vehicles instead of switching to low beams.
