AI gives China ‘God’s-eye view’ of solar, wind installations as data-centre demand booms

Researchers from Peking University and Alibaba's Damo Academy have developed an AI system to map hundreds of thousands of solar and wind installations across China, processing 7.56 terabytes of satellite imagery. This initiative creates a first-of-its-kind national inventory to support China's green energy transition and coordination efforts.
