Hungary’s Magyar Says Ukraine Needs Stronger Guarantees Than Budapest Memorandum

Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar stated that Ukraine has the right to defend its territorial integrity under the 1994 Budapest Memorandum and called for stronger future security guarantees for Kyiv. Magyar made these comments alongside Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and confirmed Hungary's support for Ukraine's EU accession is conditional on progress regarding minority rights in Zakarpattia.
