Monkeys that ‘draw’ reveal a neuronal population that encodes combinable actions

Macaque monkeys have been found to possess a neuronal population in their brain's frontal cortex that encodes combinable actions, allowing them to plan and execute unfamiliar action sequences. This ability is supported by neurons that encode recombinable action units or 'action symbols'. The discovery was published in Nature.
