Despite threats, Maryland sheriffs quickly dropped 287(g) agreements with ICE

Maryland sheriffs ended 287(g) agreements with ICE following legislation prohibiting such partnerships, with eight of nine counties terminating their deals. The law, signed by Gov. Wes Moore, required sheriff's departments to exit agreements within 90 days, and most withdrew shortly after the law took effect.
