Coast Guard stops boats holding 3 tons of cocaine, opens fire on one
The US Coast Guard intercepted boats carrying 3 tons of cocaine off the coast of Colombia and opened fire on one of them. The interdictions were made by the crew of the Tahoma, a 270-foot Coast Guard cutter, about 90 miles off the coast of Cartagena. This operation is a significant blow to drug trafficking in the region.
