Africa’s energy producers race to boost output

African countries are accelerating energy independence initiatives following geopolitical tensions, with Senegal pursuing $7.5 billion investment in gas field development and Morocco and Nigeria planning a $25 billion pipeline project. The continent, which imports most of its fuel, is seeking to reduce vulnerability to foreign energy shocks and boost refining capacity.
