OpenAI exec says company hopes to burn $50B of somebody else's money on compute this year
OpenAI executive Greg Brockman testified that the company expects to spend $50 billion on computing power by the end of the year, with the cost being borne by investors. The company has not yet turned a profit and is relying on investments from companies like Microsoft and Amazon. OpenAI's leadership is still trying to figure out how to generate revenue.
