Abandoned and Ungoverned: Lebanon’s Palestinian and Syrian Populations and the Emerging Radicalization Landscape

The article examines how Palestinian and Syrian refugee populations in Lebanon's ungoverned spaces create recruitment opportunities for extremist groups like Fatah al-Islam. Historical analysis of the 2007 conflict, which killed over 400 people and displaced 30,000 residents, serves as a warning for future jihadist recruitment.
