Aung San Suu Kyi transferred to house arrest
Myanmar's former leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been transferred from Naypyidaw prison to house arrest, according to military-controlled state media. The 80-year-old was convicted of 19 charges and sentenced to 33 years in prison following the February 2021 military coup. Her son Kim Aris stated the transfer does not constitute her release, as she remains under military custody with no communication allowed.
