Union racked up massive tab on swank DC hotel stay to battle Trump — and still lost

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) spent $1.2 million at Washington, D.C.'s Salamander Hotel during a lobbying trip to oppose President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a luxury expense criticized by anti-union group Center for Union Facts (CUF). Despite the costly campaign, Trump signed the bill into law in July 2025.
