Heavy rain not ‘nearly enough’ to tame two wildfires in drought-stricken Georgia

Heavy rain slowed two major wildfires in southern Georgia but did not extinguish them, with over 100 homes destroyed. The Pineland Road fire and Highway 82 fire remain active, and 10 new blazes emerged during the drought-stricken state.
