City manager 'begged' fired Cincinnati police chief for more officers on street as crime skyrocketed

Cincinnati's former police chief Teresa Theetge was fired after city manager Sheryl Long criticized her leadership during a surge in crime, including a viral beatdown incident and failures to implement a summer anti-violence plan. Theetge, who served 35 years with the department, was also sued by four white male officers for alleged discrimination.
