US to set up Philippines fuel depot in support of its South China Sea operations

The US is planning to establish a Defense Fuel Support Point (DFSP) in southern Davao, Philippines by 2028 to support humanitarian and maritime security operations. The facility, capable of storing over 40 million gallons of fuel, will operate under Philippine control and serve as a deterrent to Chinese actions in the South China Sea while strengthening the US-Philippines defense alliance.
