The FBI disrupted an alleged New Year's Eve attack plot, charging Christian Sturdivant of Mint Hill, North Carolina with attempting to provide material support to ISIS. A criminal complaint was filed on December 31, 2025, and unsealed on January 2 after Sturdivant's appearance in federal court in Charlotte, North Carolina.
