Defendants Charged Following Armed Coup Attack in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Four U.S. citizens have been charged in Utah federal court for allegedly conspiring to provide material support for an armed coup attack in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The defendants—Marcel Malanga, Tyler Thompson, Benjamin Zalman-Polun, and Joseph Peter Moesser—face multiple charges including conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction and conspiracy to kill or kidnap persons in a foreign country.
