Delaware to establish its first medical school in partnership with Philadelphia-based Jefferson University

Delaware will establish its first medical school through a partnership with Philadelphia-based Thomas Jefferson University, creating a four-year program for 40 students starting in 2028. The school will initially be housed at the University of Delaware in Newark and aims to address healthcare provider shortages, particularly in rural areas and for an aging population.
