Trump makes changes to steel, aluminum and copper tariffs

President Donald Trump adjusted tariffs on steel, aluminum, and copper imports, lowering tariffs on agricultural equipment and HVAC systems to 15% from 25%, and expanding the 15% tariff to include mobile industrial equipment from countries with U.S. trade deals. The changes, temporary until 2027, aim to encourage use of U.S. metals and follow prior 2018 tariffs under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962.
