Snap polls in Malaysia’s Johor test Umno comeback bid and Anwar’s ruling alliance
Malaysia’s Johor state dissolved its legislature, triggering an election within 60 days to test the political comeback of Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN) and challenge Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s Pakatan Harapan (PH) alliance. The election will see BN and PH competing directly in Johor, a historical BN stronghold.
