Democrats are optimistic about winning Senate seats in North Carolina, Ohio, Maine, and Alaska after a contentious Texas Republican primary. Ken Paxton, a candidate with a history of impeachment and fraud charges, was chosen as the Republican Senate nominee in Texas, defeating incumbent John Cornyn. He will face James Talarico, a state lawmaker and pastor, in the November election.
