Sheridan Gorman’s alleged illegal immigrant killer caught with weapon while in jail custody, police say
Jose Medina, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela charged with killing Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman, was found in possession of a 6-inch shank at Cook County Jail. He faces a new felony charge for contraband possession after correctional officers discovered the weapon in his pants pocket. Medina was apprehended at the U.S. southern border in 2023 and released into the U.S. under the Biden administration.
