Europe heatwave 'brutal reminder' of climate change
A record-breaking early heatwave in western Europe, with Britain and France reporting their hottest May days, has been described by the UN climate chief as a 'brutal reminder' of climate change. Simon Stiell attributed the extreme temperatures to humanity's burning of fossil fuels, as a 'heat dome' brought midsummer-like conditions to the region.
