Africa's religious landscape is shifting as Pentecostal and charismatic Christian groups grow faster than Catholicism, despite the Pope's recent tour. Catholic numbers increased fivefold from 1975 to 2023, while Pentecostals and charismatic faiths saw over a tenfold rise to 252.3 million, driven by the 'prosperity gospel' attracting believers with promises of wealth.
