Witnesses accuse the Israeli army of arbitrary arrests in Syria
The Israeli army has arrested at least 197 men in southern Syria since late 2024, with 43 still detained according to a lawyer who claims the detentions are arbitrary. The Israeli military asserts the arrests target 'suspected terrorists'.
