Suspect shot dead after firing near White House security checkpoint, Secret Service says

A suspect, identified as Nasire Best, was shot dead after firing near a White House security checkpoint, according to the Secret Service. A bystander was also struck, but it remains unclear whether the injury resulted from the perpetrator's fire or responding security forces.
