IoT gadget maker AcuRite shares reasoning for killing customers’ favorite app

IoT device maker AcuRite is discontinuing its popular My AcuRite app on May 30, forcing users to switch to the newer AcuRite NOW app launched in June 2025. The company cites obsolete technology as the reason, but customers are frustrated because the replacement app lacks several key features including the ability to rename multiple temperature sensors and display decimal temperatures.
