China and Russia unite on world order, but Putin departs without concrete gains

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited China to demonstrate solidarity with Beijing on establishing a multipolar world order, following China's recent hosting of US President Donald Trump. Despite the diplomatic display, the visit produced few concrete agreements, notably excluding progress on the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline project that Moscow had closely monitored.
