Alert dog may have foiled attempted break-in at Encino home

An alert dog prevented an attempted break-in at an Encino home by barking around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday. The resident heard the dog, hid in a bedroom with the pet, and called 911. Officers responded to the two-story home on Valley Vista Boulevard.
