China breaks ground on US$5b aviation complex in UAE as Iran war risks linger

China Railway Construction Corporation has begun construction on a US$5 billion aircraft maintenance complex in the United Arab Emirates, marking one of the largest Chinese construction projects in the region. Despite ongoing Middle East instability, the project will feature eight large maintenance hangars covering 1.21 million square metres, demonstrating China's expanding dominance in overseas infrastructure development.
