Hong Kong privacy watchdog warns of fake retailer compensation call scam

Hong Kong's privacy watchdog has issued a warning about a scam where fraudsters impersonate electrical appliance retailer Built-in Pro to offer fake compensation or product replacements. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data received 24 complaints and 7 inquiries about the scheme, with losses reaching HK$17,000 in one case.
