DNA cracks 40-year cold case mystery with arrest in library worker’s savage slaying: police
Charles Berry, a 66-year-old man from Connecticut, was arrested in connection with the 1986 rape and murder of Roberta Walls, a 22-year-old Virginia woman. The case was solved nearly four decades after the crime occurred. Berry's arrest was made possible through DNA evidence and coordination between the Newington Police Department and the Virginia Beach Police Department.
