China welcomed Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin with similar ceremonies, but also made sure to highlight the differences. The visits appeared deliberately mirrored to showcase Beijing's ability to host leaders from Washington and Moscow with equal grandeur. China's welcoming ceremonies for both leaders were almost identical.
