Alabama Democrats rally around former Dem senator to challenge Trump-backed Tuberville in fall

Doug Jones won the Democratic nomination for Alabama governor and will face Sen. Tommy Tuberville in the fall election. Jones has a steep uphill climb to defeat Tuberville, who is backed by President Donald Trump. The last Democrat to win a gubernatorial election in Alabama was former Gov. Don Siegelman in 1998.
