Alabama Democrats rally around former Dem senator to challenge Trump-backed Tuberville in fall

Doug Jones won the Democratic nomination for governor in Alabama and will face Sen. Tommy Tuberville, who has the Republican nomination, in the general election. Jones' win sets him up for a challenging race against Tuberville, who is backed by President Donald Trump. The last Democrat to win a gubernatorial election in Alabama was former Gov. Don Siegelman in 1998.
