Former prosecutor who accused Trump of weaponizing DOJ wins Dem primary

Zach Dembo, a former U.S. attorney, won the Democratic primary for Kentucky's 6th Congressional District seat, and will face an uphill battle in the November general election. Dembo cited Trump's weaponization of the Justice Department as the reason he pursued office. The district has historically leaned Republican, with incumbent Rep. Andy Barr winning reelection in 2024 with 63% of the vote.
