Andy Burnham confirmed as Labour candidate for Makerfield byelection

Andy Burnham has been confirmed as Labour's candidate for the Makerfield byelection. The election is expected to take place on 18 June, following the vacancy left by Josh Simons. Labour's national executive committee made the confirmation.
