Former Virginia assistant principal on trial after allegedly ignoring warnings before 6-year-old shot teacher

A former Virginia assistant principal, Ebony Parker, is on trial for felony child neglect charges after allegedly ignoring warnings that a 6-year-old student had a loaded gun before shooting a teacher. The student shot first-grade teacher Abby Zwerner in 2023. Parker faces eight felony child neglect charges and could face up to five years in prison for each count.
