Racist abuse of NHS nurses rising amid ‘normalisation’ of extreme views, RCN warns

Racist abuse of NHS nurses has increased by 86% in recent years, with incidents including being called racist slurs and having hot drinks thrown at them. The Royal College of Nursing blames the normalisation of extreme views in politics and media. Reported incidents may only be a fraction of the total.
