Santa Monica kidnapping suspect in custody after early-morning pursuit, officer-involved shooting

A kidnapping suspect was taken into custody by Santa Monica Police Department officers after a pursuit and officer-involved shooting early Monday morning. The incident began around 3:15 a.m. when SMPD personnel located the suspect wanted in connection with an ongoing kidnapping investigation. The suspect was found somewhere in Los Angeles.
