Weather tracker: Europe braces for swing from Arctic chill to extreme heat

Europe is expected to experience a dramatic swing in temperatures, rising by 15C in France and England after a prolonged spell of cool conditions. Warmer air will surge north into western and central parts of the continent. A large blocking high over the North Atlantic and slow-moving low pressure across southern Scandinavia previously dragged Arctic air southwards.
