Japanese bear-fightin' robo-wolves are pure unleaded nightmare fuel but they're working

Japan is using robotic wolves to scare away bears due to a rise in bear attacks, with 200 injuries and 13 fatalities reported since the start of 2025. The robotic wolves, called Monster Wolf, are custom-made and have proven to be effective. However, they are having trouble keeping up with demand.
