Leadership rules should ‘not be tweaked’ to let Burnham run for PM, Labour NEC member says

Labour's National Executive Committee has warned against tweaking leadership rules to allow Andy Burnham to run for PM, as he prepares to launch a challenge against Keir Starmer. Burnham's allies have also warned against a coronation for Wes Streeting. The health secretary needs enough MP support to trigger a contest.
