Ex-Biden DHS head concedes administration could have acted sooner on illegal immigration

Former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted the Biden administration could have acted sooner on illegal immigration, acknowledging that doing so might have prevented President Donald Trump's re-election. Mayorkas discussed border policies under former President Joe Biden at the Politico Security Summit. The Biden administration took executive action on border reform in June 2024.
