Big city Democrat mayor arrested at ICE protest faces voters in re-election bid

Newark Mayor Ras Baraka won re-election with over 50% of the vote, avoiding a runoff in November. He is a Democrat and one of the most progressive mayors in the nation. Baraka was previously arrested during an anti-ICE protest in 2025.
