Police shoot man dead in Bedford after overnight standoff

A man in his 40s was shot dead by police in Bedford after barricading himself inside a property and presenting a weapon. The incident occurred after reports of vehicles being damaged at about 10:40pm on Monday. Officers from Bedfordshire police responded to the scene.
