Israeli MPs back special tribunal with death penalty powers for alleged 7 October attackers

The Israeli Knesset has approved a plan to set up a special tribunal with the power to sentence Palestinians to death for their alleged role in the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. The measure was passed with 93 votes in favor and no opposition. This tribunal will have the authority to hold livestreamed trials in a military court.
