Cruise passengers shaken by third death at popular port less than a year after opening

An 88-year-old American tourist died after her mobility scooter plunged off a pier in the Bahamas at Carnival Cruise Line's Celebration Key, marking the third death at the popular port since it opened. The incident occurred on May 9, and despite resuscitation efforts, the woman did not survive. Celebration Key has had two previous deaths, both drowning incidents, since its opening on July 19, 2025.
