Family of FSU shooting victim sues OpenAI over suspect’s ChatGPT use

The family of Tiru Chabba, a victim of a shooting at Florida State University, is suing OpenAI, alleging its ChatGPT chatbot contributed to the crime. The lawsuit was filed in a Florida federal court and claims the chatbot co-conspired with the suspected shooter. The incident occurred in April 2025.
