SoftBank bets on battery building to back bit barns

SoftBank is entering the datacenter battery business and plans to start manufacturing batteries on a large scale to support AI infrastructure. The company aims to deploy its battery systems at its own AI server farms initially and make them widely available in the future. SoftBank expects the operation to generate revenue of ¥100 billion per year by 2030.
